Conway Hall

Conway Hall is owned by Conway Hall Ethical Society and was first opened in 1929. The name was chosen in honour of Moncure Daniel Conway (1832-1907), anti-slavery advocate, out-spoken supporter of free thought and biographer of Thomas Paine.

The Hall now hosts a wide variety of lectures, classes, performances, community and social events. It is renowned as a hub for free speech and independent thought.

Their Library holds the Ethical Society’s collection, which is the largest and most comprehensive Humanist Research resource of its kind in the United Kingdom.

Consultation and Improvements

PF Events provided an initial detailed consultation and technical report highlighting areas for improvement and suggested solutions. PF Events then compiled a competitive quote for equipment and services. A plan was agreed and improvements suggested in the report were implemented. Regular ongoing reviews are conducted to highlight new areas for improvement.

In the case of this venue the main areas requiring improvements were:

• Detailed acoustical analysis of the venue and acoustical optimisation of a new PA system installation

• Supply and management of event AV technicians responsible for the installation, setting up, operation and removal of audio, lighting and AV equipment
• Direct contact with a PF Events manager to discuss bookings and technical requirements
• Yearly PAT testing of all electrical equipment
• Servicing and maintenance of all audio, lighting and AV equipment
• Event equipment provided for hire when required by Conway hall or hirers
• Audio, lighting and AV sales and installation services when required
• Noise consultancy services provided as required
